Charles Shiels Wainwright (December 31, 1826 – September 13, 1907) was a produce farmer in the state of New York and an artillery officer in the Union Army during the American Civil War. - other
Civil War Union Army Officer. He served during the Civil War as Colonel and commander of the 57th New York Volunteer Infantry, which he led at the Battle of Gettysburg. He was killed in action in the May 1864 Battle of the Wilderness. - other
