NADA HIGHWAY COLLISION BRINGS INSTANT DEATH

Two men were killed instantly and a third was seriously injured in a headon collision between a car and a pickup truck on Highway 71 at Nada, to make Colorado county's contribution to slaughter on the highways over the Christmas holidays.

Killed instantly were Robert Rudolph Bubela, 33, of El Campo and M.A. Henderson, 28, of Ganado. Alvin Hensen, 25, of Ganado, is in Columbus hospital with a compound fracture of the jaw, a fractured ankle and possible internal chest injuries.

The collision happened about 9:45 Friday night was investigated by Highway Patrolman D.L. Wilson and Deputy Sheriffs M. H. Buller and Howard Chollett.

Mr. Bubela was dead behind the wheel of his car and Mr. Henderson was dead in the truck, when the officers arrived. Mr. Henson, the only survivor, had been thrown clear of the truck. Mr. Wilson said Mr. Bubela apparently was driving his car south on the wrong side of the road when he met the Hensen pickup truck. Skid marks on the pavement showed Mr. Henson was trying to stop at the time of the crash, the officers said.

Hensen and his friend, Mr. Henderson, apparently were on a hunting trip, as they had guns in the truck, Mr. Wilson said.
