S/Sgt Morrell M Spencer was a Gunner in the Randall (and Halsey) Flight Crew. The Halsey crew was one of the original twelve flight crews in the 392nd Bombardment Squadron. George E Halsey was seriously wounded Dec 20, 1943 over Maloelap, was sent back to the States, and spent the rest of the War ferrying planes.

Halsey was replaced by Lt. Jack L Randall, Assistant Operations Officer for the 392nd Bomron to lead the crew as its pilot. David L Stewart was replaced by Charles C Royce as the Co-Pilot of the crew, and William F Norris replaced William A Strasser (Strasser was re-assigned to the Kohl crew).

Lt. Randall and his crew would go on to complete 30 combat missions with the squadron in May 1944.
