Boyd Oliver Goodboe was the son of Hulda M. Thorson and Eli Pierre Goodbeau of MN.

He married Mahala C. Cole of Winner, MN on 19 Dec 1936 in MN. They had five children, plus Boyd had one child prior to this marriage.

He worked at various jobs until 1938, when he purchased a farm in the Pencer area. [Probably Spencer, Aitkin Co.] They later had a farm near Warroad, where they entertained various nieces and nephews in the summers. In 1943 he became a rural mail carrier and continued until his retirement in 1977.

Boyd was active in his community, serving in various capacities with the Skine School board, the National Mail Carriers, Roseau Masonic Lodge # 268, and the Roseau Fraternal Eagles.

Burial at the Pine Grove cemetery, Mickinock township, MN. The cemetery is located 15 miles south of Roseau on Hwy 11, turn left (east) on County Road 4, drive 6 miles, cemetery will be on your right (south) corner of County Road 4 and County road 9. Mahala is also buried here.
