on of David E. Beaty and Anna Elizabeth Ross, of Butler Co., OH, who later relocated to Jerseyville, IL. In 1866, Ninian married Catherine E. Bonnell. With her, he had five children: David Beckett; Herbert Bonnell; Bertha; George Ninian; and Henry Ross. During the Civil War, Ninian served in the Union army, and later collected a pension for his service. Towards the end of his life, he and Kate moved to St. Louis, where he died in 1902. The name listed on his headstone is "Nenian C. Beaty."
