on of Jeremiah Chamberlain (1740-1829) and Margaret Carmichael (1765-1821), of Grainger Co., TN. Husband of Mary West (1798-1886). Thompson and Mary removed to Johnson Co., MO, in c1835 and continued on to TX some time between 1846 and 1850, settling in Manor, Travis Co. They had at least nine children, most of them born in TN: Catherine Elizabeth; Jeremiah; Samuel West; two unnamed children who died in infancy; Martha Jane; James; Andrew; and Sterling. Some sources suggest that both Thompson and Mary are buried in Manor Cemetery, but there seems currently to be no clear confirmation of this available.
