In Biddeford, Maine April 11, Charles V. Marney, 78, of 218 Temple Ave., Old Orchard Beach, Maine, formerly of Springfield, Mass. He was a Gold Star Father. His son MOMM2 Harold William Marney was killed in World War II while on PT Boat 109 under command of the late President John F. Kennedy. He was also predeceased by another son, Roland Vaughn Marney in 1948. He leaves his wife,Jennie (Fillmore) Marney; a daughter, Mrs.Elaine Piorek of Enfield, Conn., a sister, Mrs. Helen Stiles of Hallowell, Me. and five brothers, Ross Marney of Quincy, Earl Marneyof Agawam, Mass., Girvan and Ralph Marney, of Hamilton, Ontario and Claude of Amherst, Nova Scotia. Funeral services will be held at Byron funeral home Friday 1.30 p. m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield, Mass. Visiting hours Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
