Rosalie S. Ross, 86, a resident of St. John's Nursing Home in Hays since November, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at the nursing home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1914 in Ellis to Ignatius and Frances (Eichner) Lang. She was a graduate of Ellis High School.

She married Albert J. Ross on May 18, 1938, in Hays. He died Aug. 10, 1977. She worked at Neuberger Bakery, was a waitress, cook, and manager of the Brunswick Cafe and was a former school custodian. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Boos, Hays, and Mary Herbst, Bogue; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons: A.J. and Joseph, six brothers, and two sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays with Father Don Zimmerman officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine. There will be a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 6 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m., both Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Thomas More Prep-Marian High School.
