VMI Fallen of the Class of 1941

The Class of 1941 had the largest loss of any class during World War II. Twenty-two Brother Rats of the Class of 1941 were Killed/ Missing in Action, Lost at Sea, or killed in the line of duty during the war. The losses include one member who had joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and the first VMI Alumni to be killed while serving in the US Coast Guard. There is also a single loss of an Army Civilian operating a vessel sunk by a sea mine in the Mediterranean. The majority of the killed were Infantry/ Combat Arms Officers and then Combat Air Crew.
