In photo section is copy of Land Grant for 80 acres in Springfield, MO that was given to an Isaac Jackson in Capt Henry Steed's 4th VA Militia for service in the War of 1812. That deed was signed by President James Buchanan and was held by CC Leaming.

Clark Caswell Leaming was born in Hamilton County, Indiana, probably in White River, where his father had settled the family, on 24 May 1823. He was the son of Jeremiah Leaming. He passed away in 1901.

Clark married Sarah Ann Potter in Hamilton County, Indiana on 13 Nov 1845.[1]

On 1 February 1862, Clark Caswell Leaming enlisted as a Corporal in the 4th SM Cavalry at Missouri for the Union.
