++ABOUT THE MISSION:++

The family and the US Navy have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to be present for the funeral services for EM3 George Harvey Gibson, age 20. George Harvey Gibson was born in Winchester, Kansas on October 20, 1921, he died on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. EM3 George H. Gibson enlisted in the US Navy in 1940 and was serving as an electrician’s mate aboard the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked without warning at 7:48 am Hawaii time. The Oklahoma was torpedoed multiple times until it finally capsized and sank. Some sailors were able to escape, 429 did not, our hero was one of these. For 76 years our hero had been unidentified but recently was confirmed through DNA and will be returning home. We are grateful that EM3 George H. Gibson has been identified and we will be privileged to be there as he comes home.
