Preston Locklear

reston Locklear was one of the chief men of the Native Americans in Robeson Couny from the beginning of Civil War between the states to the beginning of World War One. Preston has a legacy linking him to UNC at Pembroke & the earliest leader promoting education for all Native Americans with a separate school system funded by the state of North Carolina in 1887.
